Make up practical week 6
Traditional Elizabethan Make up.
Equipment:
- · Full make up kit.
Traditional Elizabethan make up was a very pale face and eyebrows. No mascara or liner. Lashes would be pale or white too. Blusher was applied just on the apples of the cheeks and a slight bit of lip colour.
- · Use primer and white foundation all over the face, up to hairline, lips, ears and neck.
- · Lighten the eyebrows with the white foundation. Brushing against the direction of hair growth.
- · Lighten the eyelashes using small brush getting as close as you can to the lash line.
- · Heavily powder- don’t worry if it looks dry as this was common in Elizabethan times due to products they used (or lack of resources causing them to create different mixtures of things.)
- · Apply pink blusher on to apples of cheeks.
- · Apply blusher on to the lips. More pink than orange.
Evaluation: I feel like the practical went well.
Next time I would like to block out the eyebrows a bit more and make the lip
slightly more prominent.
