Looking back now at my design i feel the make up needed to be a bit more extreme to show better in the photographs, and too experiment with other textures and perhaps lashes. I was really happy with how my hair design turned out and am glad my skills and potential was pushed further by my tutor as i feel a lot more confident now.

Conclusion.
Overall i have really enjoyed this first project. I feel my practical and theoretical skills have grown and developed throughout this semester. As having no previous hair experience i am happy in my progression in this area particularly. I feel i have used various resources for research and pleased with my designs development over the weeks. In future i aim to widen my research even more though. I was really happy with the final outcome for my design and the outcome of my partners design that i created.

Inspiration.
After speaking with my tutor recently about finding inspiration and more visual references from my own life, I have already started looking differently at what’s around me. I think it’s important to try to unpack my daily activities and personal interests, in order to investigate what I find inspiring. Rather than just using the internet as my only source of research, I am excited to start exploring the things that sub-consciously influence my practice. I will attempt to do this by documenting what catches my eye through photography and blogging.
Today I assisted my sister with a Christmas stall for a BA Fine Art degree show fundraiser in the main building. I really took interest in an image of Frida Kahlo that was designed for a Christmas card. I like the simplicity of the monochromatic palette chosen to depict her features. I was particularly drawn to what appeared to be a floral crown, which I feel ties in with the Elizabethans, with their use of embellishments and hair accessories. This has made me think of other ways which the Elizabethan Era could be interpreted and contemporised.
Over the Christmas period I intend on watching a couple of films that I think will inspire my creativity. Two of these will be, Black Swan and Anna Karenina, both of which include a lot of stage make up design.
Next semester I will continue to pay specific attention to what it is exactly that inspires me and hope that this more varied documentation will feed into my practice.

Outcome of final assessment (My design.)
These are the images from the outcome of my design that my partner Millie created from the final assessment. I am really pleased with the result.
Final face chart for my design.
After creating my final face charts and experimenting with them, i still didn't feel like i had the design i wanted for my final look. I decided to take aspects of them. I have said before that i only wanted one thing to be the focus, as the hair is quite big i didn't want it too look too much. So either lip or eye. I really liked the purple lip in one of my face charts so i have decided to use that. I also really like the subtleness of the pinks round the eyes, cheeks and forehead on another of my face charts so wanted to combine that with the purple lip. However i still feel that that isn't enough. I wanted more on the eye but not too much to overpower the lip. So i have chosen to use purple contact lenses just to really bring out the eye more and tie in with my lip (Purple because it was a royal colour in the Elizabethan era). I feel using purple contact lenses, this will contemporaries my look even more and give it more futuristic vibe.

Practice for final assessment.
My partner Millie and I tested different things to use for the white on my face. My skin is very dry and in previous practices the white base came out very patchy due to my skin. After i had exfoliated and moisturised well we tried the Illamasqua white foundation and then the white screenface. We decided that the Illamasqua worked better and to use that mixed in with primer on the final assessment.
The light in the picture above is bad, accros the forehead is the screenface and the illamasqua accros the nose.

My partners practice of my design.
Today Millie practiced my final design for my look. We will meet again and practice the look before her timed assessment. I was pleased with how the practice went. However i have extremely dry skin, and the foundation was going very patchy and the dry patches were coming through very clearly making the foundation look really uneven. Even though it was applied correctly. I am going to exfoliate my skin well and then when Millie and I meet up to practice, we are going to try again with the Illamasqua white foundation but adding primer into it too. And we will also experiment with other white colours like our screen face supra colour white too see if that sits better on my skin.
Here our the results:
I am pleased with the result today. I feel like it works well together. However i feel the edges of the brows and line under the eye needs to be blended slightly more but we will practice again to get the look perfect.
